Father's visitation/parenting time on a state-by-state basis

Based on a recent study, Illinois divorced father's spend only 23.1 percent of their time each year with their children. This is an usually low amount as compared to other states. For example, Colorado dad spend 50% of their time with their children.

This study was conducted by Custody X Change, a Utah company that specializes in computer software to help divorced parents create parenting plans.

During the last couple of years, many states have attempted to increase the amount of time dad's spend with their children during and after a divorce. The presumption that the father works while the mother stays home with the children, is an outdated stereotype that no longer holds true.

Most households now involve two working parents, and each parent is equally involved in the upbringing of their children. Shouldn't divorce laws and results expect the same outcome?

Unfortunately, this is not the case in Illinois. It is still considered "normal" to award one parent more parenting time than the other.

What are your  thoughts about the above map? Is this a problem? and if so, how can we solve it?
